Aftercollatingthedata,theconsultantfoundthatthesafetypolicywasdraftedinastandardformatandwasnotinaccordancewiththenatureofjobtheemployeesweredoing.Thesafetypolicyclearlymentionedthatthewetfloorshouldhaveasignageboardwith“Wetfloor,Mindyoursteps”clearlymentionedonit.Therewasnosuchsignageboardintheworkfloor.Thesafetypolicyalsoclearlymentionedthatnoworkershouldbeallowedtoentertheworkplacewithoutthehelmeteveniftheworkerisnotworkingonthemachine.Thereweremanyworkerswhowereworkingwithouthelmetsondangerousmachines.ThesafetyconsultantwithhelpofHR/IRdepartment,projectmanagers,inputsfromtheemployeesdraftedanewcustomisedsafetypolicyanduseddifferentinside-marketingtoolstocommunicatethesameacrossorganisation.Thenewsafetypolicycategoricallymentionedtherewardsandpunishmentsfornotabidingbythesafetynorms.Italsomadethesupervisorsresponsibleforanynonadherencetothesafetynormsbyworkers.Therewasasubsequentdecreaseinthenumberofaccidentsas soon as thenewsafetypolicywasintroduced.
